LOCKING IN THE DETAILS FOR
2015’s THIRD ANNUAL
PAMLICO WRITERS CONFERENCE AND COMPETITION
You might not realize it, but a lot is going on behind the scenes in getting ready for our next conference. Lining up speakers, presenters, publishers, finalizing publicity and news releases, collecting author interviews and bio’s, writing Facebook snippets, Twitter tweets and articles for our blog. 2015’s Third Annual, Pamlico Writers Conference and Competition is shaping up to be what I consider our best conference yet. And topping that, we also have a new venue, The Turnage Theatre, which houses our co-sponsor for the conference, the Beaufort County Arts Council. What’s happening you ask? Let me give you just a few of the things to look forward to.
On Friday, March 20, 2015, from 5:30pm until 8:00pm we’ll be featuring our keynote speaker and Novelist, Jill McCorkle. The fee for this event is $10 per person. We’ll be serving light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. And then for an additional $10 you’ll get an opportunity, to pitch your book idea for (7) seven minutes, to one of our book publishers. Crazy, huh? Know of anywhere else you could get this kind of opportunity for a face-to-face with a publisher? I don’t think so. For this you’ll want to get your name on the list early to make sure you get a spot in the lineup.
After that, anyone interested can walk a few doors down and re-convene for a Writer’s Open Mike at the Union Alley Coffeehouse.
Then on Saturday, March 21, 2015, 8:30am until, the conference begins, featuring authors, poets, professors, and publishers who’ll be sharing their expertise, thoughts and ideas on an array of topics which I can’t list here, but if you’re interested in learning more about the conference/speakers/presenters/panelists/topics/registration/etc. you can go to our website at:
In closing please let me say that whether you’re a serious writer, have a desire to become one, or undecided, you won’t want to miss this conference. Sign up early and make sure you’ll get a seat in workshop sessions you really want to take.
Looking forward to meeting and seeing you there.
