What’s to Come

clip-art-spy-satire 2015

January, 2015. Can you believe it? In just a few short weeks (March 20 & 21) the 3rd Annual Pamlico Writers Conference and Competition will be here. (See website for more details http://www.pamlicowritersconference.org ). Have you already signed up? I know, I know, it’s early, but this is one conference you won’t want to miss. With all the talent we’ve lined-up along with workshop topics, I believe this will be our best conference yet.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be spotlighting interviews with each of our panelist/presenters. I hope from the interviews you’ll see what each brings to the table so you’ll be able to pick the workshops that fit your needs.

Just in case, let me give you a tiny teaser for what’s planned for the night before the conference.

On the Friday (March 20th, 5:30pm) at The Turnage Theatre, for $10, There will be a kick-off event featuring the American short story writer and novelist, Jill McCorkle. Ms. McCorkle will be giving a keynote address (Seeking the Source: a discussion about voice). Whether you’re a writer or one of her vast fans, you won’t want to miss hearing her speak.

There will be light hors d’oeuvres and beverages for those in attendance.

If that isn’t enough, (for an additional $10) you’ll have an opportunity to sign up for a 7 minute face to face with a book publisher to pitch your book idea. Do you know of anywhere else you could get this kind of chance? None that I know.

Looking forward to see you all at the conference. Sign up soon.
