Author, Shane Wilson to speak September 20th at Speakers Luncheon

September 20th Luncheon Speaker will be Shane Wilson from the Fayetteville, NC, at The China Bay Buffet, 2871 US Hgwy 17S, Chocowinity, NC 27817, at 11:45 am.

Shane Wilson - headshotShane will be leading attendees in an interactive discussion on the creative impulse and how labels play into the publishing process.

He is the author of A Year Since the Rain, a magical realism novel available now from Snow Leopard Publishing.

He was born in Alabama and raised in Georgia and considers himself a child of the southeastern United States where he feels simultaneously at-home and out-of-place.

Shane graduated from Valdosta State University in South Georgia with a Masters in English. He taught college English in Georgia for four years before moving to North Carolina in 2013 where he currently teaches at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

He has published poetry in Tethered by Letters and the Stonepile Writers’ Anthology, Volume III. He is currently working on a new novel along with as a collection of short stories based on the mythos of and set in the same town as A Year Since the Rain.

For Shane, no matter the outside temperature, there is always an iced coffee in his hand as he walks into class in the mornings. He tends to chase the day with a whiskey and a re-run of The Office.

Our free Luncheon Meetings
 are open to the public.

Attendees should go through the normal buffet line and assemble in the private meeting room. Please be sure and leave a tip for your server so that we may reduce our facility costs.

Our public Luncheon Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month except the following months: January, March, July, October, November and December.

Pamlico Writers Group is affiliated with Arts of the Pamlico and meets as small critique groups on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the Turnage Theater. Novice and published authors are encouraged to attend and join our group.
